What the Association Offers to Members

We offer a wide variety of opportunities, something for everyone to enjoy:

  • Reunions: these are held at school, regionally and world-wide.  We often help alumnae put together a special event for their significant anniversary.  Contact us to discuss your ideas.
  • Social activities
    • Association Choir - this special choral gathering of adult members meets every Wednesday evening during the Autumn and Spring Terms to prepare a work for public performance in March. It is a wonderful chance perhaps to perform with your daughter or even granddaughter.
    • Association Choir that Rocks (and Band) - in the Summer term we offer the chance to either sing or play with the Association Choir that Rocks, a light-hearted choir with only four rehearsals before performing in the Jazz & Rock Concert in May.
    • Association trips – we currently organise one trip per year to Europe to explore an aspect of history, art or culture.
  • Foundation Day: an opportunity to celebrate the School’s birthday in September each year with a speaker and afternoon tea.
  • St Catherine’s Presents… is a series of prestigious events: concerts, lectures and entertainments by notable performers, academics, broadcasters and artists.  Our intention is to offer to the community evening events that are bold and brilliant, stimulating and sensational.  Past speakers have included: Sir Max Hastings, Professor Mona Siddiqui, Jane Garvey and Baroness Susan Greenfield with concerts from the King’s Singers and the Band of the Welsh Guards.
  • Global community: St Catherine’s seeks to connect members of the Association across the world.  With Ambassadors representing certain communities around the globe, we encourage you to make direct contact and enjoy local reunions. Find out if there is an Ambassador in your country. If not, perhaps you’d like to take on the role?
  • Career connections:  The London Network, established in 2016, is a chance for alumnae will be able to seek advice and make connections to develop their careers, drawing on the professional experience of current parents or each other.  For parents, there will be the opportunity to offer guidance to the St Catherine’s community, the chance to spot new talent and, of course, to meet each other in a professional context. We hold two events per year in October and May.
  • Supporting current students
    • Alumnae and parents generously share their career experiences and routes into their specific jobs to inspire our students at our ‘End of Term’ lectures.
    • Sixth Form students are eligible to apply for a series of Travel Awards administered by the Association Director.   These are designed to support trips to enhance work experience or education.
    • The Association supports the Head of Careers in inviting alumnae and parents to talk at a number of specially tailored events from the biennial careers’ forum to career specific workshops.  If you would be willing to share your own career expertise through presentations, advice or work experience placements, please contact our Association Director, Dawn Pilkington at
    • The Association runs a database comprising over 7,000 members and we are pleased to be able to put our current girls in touch with those who have gone before.  Alumnae are usually delighted to assist and many of them return to School each year as speakers and mentors.
  • Professional and social communities online
    • Please join our social media groups.  If you are an alumna, join the 1,000+ members who share their social news on our private Facebook site.  Nearly 900 members use our LinkedIn group to find career connections and read articles we post on this site.
  • Non Nobis - bi-annually you will receive the St Catherine’s Association newsletter, Non Nobis, which reports on all our activities and the interesting updates from all our Association members.
  • Digital archive – delve into the school’s bank of historical photos via our digital archive that covers the period from the School’s foundation in 1885 to the 1960s.  If you have any photos from your time at St Cat’s, -lease share them with us.
